The book of III John only has 14 verses, but has several connections.

In the first sample for Isaiah chapter 64, the Lord makes a connection to the 64th book of the Bible with the people that do evil, NOT able to see God.

ISAIAH 64
7…thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.

III JOHN 11…Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.

In the second sample the Lord makes a connection by meeting with John as he rejoices in his righteous work.

ISAIAH 64
5 Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways…

III JOHN
3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

The Lord gave John the words for this epistle as he was rejoicing over the people he had lead to Christ.

In the 3rd sample, the Lord makes a connection with people changing because of His NAME. Also Isaiah verse 7 is directly connected to III John 7 with His NAME.

ISAIAH 64
7 And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee…
8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father…we all are the work of thy hand.

III JOHN
7 Because that for his name‘s sake they went forth…
8 We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellow helpers to the truth.
