In the first sample for Isaiah chapter 53, the Lord makes two connections to the 53rd book of the Bible with.

  1. Isaiah asking the question, “who hath believed our report?”
Then God answers the question in II Thessalonians, His saints believe and the brethren have the belief of the truth.
  2. Isaiah asking the question, “to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?”
Then God answers the question in II Thessalonians, on them that know not God, and on them that obey not the gospel, who believed not the truth.

The connections for Isaiah 53:1 begin in II Thessalonians chapter 1.

ISAIAH 53:1
Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm (power) of the LORD REVEALED?

II THESSALONIANS 1:7
…when the Lord Jesus shall be REVEALED from heaven…
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

II THESSALONIANS 2:12
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

Isaiah chapter 53 is a prophecy of the coming Messiah (the Christ) being chastised, put to death, resurrecting and the reasons for it. The Lord makes a connection with physically seeing Christ at His first and second coming. Notice the contrast

ISAIAH 53:2
…and when we shall see him there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is DESPISED and REJECTED of men.
(at His first coming)

II THESSALONIANS 1:10
When he shall come to be GLORIFIED in his saints, and to be ADMIRED in all them that believe
II THESSALONIANS 2:1
…by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together unto him
(at His second coming)
